Bride and her Mehendi outfit

That beautiful moment when mehendi is being applied on your hands. I am being a bit cliché but imagine your mehendi with your husband’s name and the song playing “Mehendi hai rachne waali, haanthon mein gehri laali”

The decor of the mehendi function, with colourful flowers and drapes all around.

Lets do something different with the brides outfit for mehendi.

The bride is ready, with her mehendi already being applied before the guests.

I chose a Yellow lehenga and a blouse with a green cape.

Staring with the cape – this one is my favourite till date, from designer Payal Khandwala. The emerald green, which suits Indian skin tone, really brings out the glow in my face. Green being the colour of the year, try using it more this wedding season. I used a belt to keep the cape in place so I am free to dance and enjoy without handling the cape on every step.

The yellow brocade lehenga, is a very simple one, as the yellow stands out stunningly against emerald green. See how the gold brocade work in flower pattern looks graceful and luxurious. So rich.

My personal style makes me experiment with chic and classic pieces, where the highlight is the silhouette, colour, style and accessories of the outfit.

I wanted my jadau and coloured stoned neck piece to be the highlight, so I chose a grey brocade blouse.

You can also try the trendy floral jewellery with this outfit.

If your function is such, that your mehendi is being applied along with the guests, you can fold the cape more and drape it such that the drape does not disturb the application. Also, you can replace the lehenga with a brocade palazzo.

I chose this outfit because the colours of the outfit is vibrant, and the pattern on the outfit is so classic, that it will well converge with the decorations. Also, styling it differently, I can easily wear these pieces post marriage.

So all the brides out there, style yourself in beautiful silhouettes and look stunning.
